Flu vaccinations at Lynch's Pharmacy

Our fully trained pharmacist will guide you through the vaccination process and answer any questions you may have.

The seasonal flu vaccine

The seasonal flu vaccine protects against the strains of flu virus recommended by the World Health Organization as most likely to circulate this season. The viruses change each year, which is why a new vaccine is needed each year. You should get your flu vaccination from September to be covered for the flu season.

The flu vaccine does not contain any live viruses - it cannot give you the flu. It helps your immune system produce antibodies to the influenza virus, and starts to work within two weeks.

People aged 18 and over can get the vaccine from their pharmacist. The vaccine is free if you are in an at-risk group, though a consultation fee may apply unless you have a medical card or GP visit card.
